Substance Use and Addiction Treatment is recommended for individuals who have encountered difficulties stopping or decreasing their use of alcohol, illegal drugs, or prescription drugs to the point that it has created health, legal, relationship, or employment problems. Substance Use is assessed and a level of treatment is determined by evaluating a variety of factors including: amount and type of use; history of use; and level of overall functioning. Group treatment is often the treatment that is recommended for substance use and addiction in order to gain insight and suggestions through others that have experienced similar problems. Integrated care is provided as an individual with substance use issues may have additional psychological and health concerns. Sometimes the court system may order a substance use evaluation or treatment because of legal difficulties associated with use.
